THE BYTOWN MUSEUM

is housed in Ottawa's oldest stone building,
the Commissariat of Lt. Col. John By, Royal Engineers. 
Built in 1827, the Commissariat was 
the treasury and a storehouse during 
the building of the Rideau Canal.
