Creating a Children's Book (Ages 8 to 12)

This comprehensive teaching strategy is intended to help children understand the writing process, from inspiration to publication. The students will follow the same steps used by celebrated Canadian children's authors such as Tim Wynne-Jones and illustrator Eric Beddows in Zoom Upstream and Ginette Anfousse in L'École (School), in order to publish and launch their own children's book.

Comprehensive teaching strategies on the NLC site include detailed guidelines for educators, including learning outcomes/expectations/objectives, suggested criteria for assessment, instructions for classroom use, and worksheets.
