Alistair MacLeod
Born in Saskatchewan, Alistair MacLeod was raised in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia where he still spends his summers, writing in a cliff-top cabin looking west towards Prince Edward Island. Since 1969, Dr. MacLeod has been Professor of English at the University of Windsor, Ontario during the winter months. Working alongside W.O. Mitchell, he has been an inspiring teacher to generations of writers at the Banff Centre and elsewhere.

Island a collection of 16 short stories, was released early in 2000. His latest novel No Great Mischief published by McClelland & Stewart in 1999, won the Trillium Prize in April 2000.
