Special Characteristics: The Cucujidae are very flattened and elongated beetles. They are usually reddish, brown or yellow.

Comments: Flat bark beetles have a wide range of habits. They are usually found under the bark of freshly cut logs. Most adults and larvae feed on fungi found under bark, but a few species are predaceous on small arthropods. Some species can be major pests of stored products such as cereals, dried fruits and tobacco.
