Croak, John Bernard (1892-1918). From Newfoundland, Croak served with the 13th Battalion, CEF, during the Amiens offensive. On August 8th, 1918, he single-handedly silenced a machine-gun nest, then led his platoon to eliminate several others. He died later of his wounds. |
