Welcome! Saskatchewan is host to a French community with a rich cultural heritage that is little known outside of the province (and often inside). Our mandate at la Société historique de la Saskatchewan – "Saskatchewan Historical Society" – is to disseminate and encourage the study of the francophone history of Saskatchewan. You may also want to check out these related websites:

  • Société historique de la Saskatchewan (Sask. Historical Society)
  • Le Site internet fransaskois (Fransaskois website)
  • Our Virtual Museum website aims to provide an extensive resource on the culture, the history and the language of the Fransaskois people, and to serve as a useful guide to the province's francophone museums. We hope this site will be of interest to amateur historians, teachers, students, and tourists, as well as to the Fransaskois community. We are sorry to say that this site has not yet been translated into English. It is our hope that it will be fully translated by 2005. However, the site comprises well over 800 pages of material, and the translation will take time!

For your convenience, we have included a plan of the site below, which may help you navigate through the site more easily. There is also a search engine that will help those seeking specific information. Thanks for visiting!
