Peter O'Reilly designed the curving brick and gravel paths and lines of the flower garden near the house in order to draw attention to the pleasing scale and asymmetrical shape of the Italianate villa.

Sturdy wooden bar trellises were affixed to the side of the house which could be easily removed for maintenance or painting.

The trellises, stone and ivy borders, and graded gravel on the carriage path (maintained by regular sprinkling, raking and rolling) have been fully restored.
