Nancy Petry has recently exhibited at Espace 522, Montreal, in Nancy Petry: Peregrinations, Simon Blais Gallery, Montreal, in L'Abstraction à Montréal 1950-1970 and in the Agnès Lefort Art Gallery, Montreal 1950-1961 exhibition at the Leonard & Bina Ellen Gallery at Concordia University, Montreal. Her website project, Sacred Sites of the Khmer, was created especially for the London Biennale 2000, London, England.

She studied painting with John Lyman at the McGill School of Fine Arts in Montreal, and, in Paris, at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière and Atelier 17 with William Hayter. After post-graduate lithography at the Slade School in England, she worked at the Print Workshop, London, and Graff in Montreal.

Nancy Petry has been represented in Montreal by the Agnès Lefort Art Gallery, the Mira Godard Gallery and Gallery Esperanza, as well as by Nancy Poole Gallery in Toronto and Anthony Tooth Gallery in London. She has been the recipients of grants from the Canada Council and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Quebec and her work is represented in many public and private collections, such as: The Canada Council Art Bank, Le Musée d'art contemporain, Montreal, The Confederation Art Gallery, Charlottetown, P.E.I., The National Library of Canada, Ottawa, La Bibliothèque National du Québec, Montreal, Rothchild's Bank, London, England, The National Gallery of Australia, Canberra and the British Museum, London.

She was on the Board of Directors of Véhicule Art, Montreal, and Vice-Chairman from 1977-1980. During this time she was instrumental in introducing numerous international artists to Montreal including: Nan Hoover, Miller and Cameron, Reindeer Work, Federica Marangoni, Augusto Concato, Paul Burwell and Anna Bean. She represented Véhicule Art at the Arte Fiera, Bologna, Italy in 1977 and 1978 thus establishing the gallery as the main venue of performance art in Canada.
