Women

Graphical element: Native woman negotiating peace between tribes

First Nations and Inuit women played a big part in European exploration. When they travelled with an expedition, they had many jobs. The women set up camp and made the meals. Women also acted as guides and translators and worked at the forts and fur-trading posts.
