Around 1911 he photographed Interior Salish Natives with the assistance of J.A. Teit. Vinson also ran the Progress Studio (1916-1917).
Vinson's first name was given as "Vivian" between 1905-1909 and from 1910-1917 as "Valiant". He was married to Blanche (Ducheny) Vinson of Portland, Oregon. He was a reeve of West Vancouver in 19__ (CVA PORTRAITS P. 289 and 689).
