A self-taught stone and steel sculptor, Vincent Bomberry is distinguished by his use of monumental scale to maximize impact upon the viewer. Expressing and commenting upon contemporary Native experiences, these works frequently incorporate elements of duality and transformation, and are themselves a play between abstraction and representation. In addition to illustrating traditional legends, Bomberry is also known for utilizing mythological themes in order to present the history of First Nations as colonized peoples.
