Wilbur Franks trying on his anti gravity suit. It was eventually named the Franks Flying Suit.
The Human Centrifuge Machine invented by Franks. Its fundamental sketch was completed in 1939 but it was not built until 1942. Pilots tested the Franks Flying Suit in the machine to observe its effectiveness in helping them withstand high-G manoeuvres. The testing done was very similar to that which goes on using today's aircraft simulators.
