History
The parkette gets its name from William (Bill) Joseph Foley (1924-1985), a former Hamilton politician, international textile union executive, and a strong labour supporter. He grew up in Hamilton near the parkette, not far from Upper Ottawa.
Bill Foley Parkette is the second of four parkettes opened on the edge of the Hamilton Escarpment.
