History

Turner Park is named after William J. D. Turner, from whom the land was purchased by the City back in 1965. The land was taken over by the Parks Board in August of 1981 when Mr. Turner passed away. It was not until 1992 and 1993 that the City Council approved development plans for the addition of baseball diamonds to the site. Future development is set to include 4 additional baseball diamonds (bringing the total to 12) and 2 field houses. Turner Park, with its beautiful trees and fun-filled ball parks is a fine addition to the city.
