History
Veevers Park was officially named on June 23, 1987, after the Veevers family, who donated a large portion of land to the city. The Veevers brothers, Ronald, Raymond and Bertram, left their land and 1 1/2-storey house, which was built of rough hewn stone quarried from the escarpment. The home is a relatively rare example of a pre-Confederation stone farmhouse and, although the house has not been opened to the public, it is recognized for its historical significance.
Playground equipment was installed in the park in 1987.
