The readership of science fiction and fantasy is as varied as the population as a whole. Readers range from the young to the not-so-young, from fans to scholars engaged in the serious study of fantastic literature's themes and techniques.
In English Canada, Science-Fiction Studies based at McGill University is one of the premier journals in the field. In French Canada, scholarship about Québécois science fiction and fantasy has a long and respected history.
