The image is a horizontal stacked bar graph showing the total percentages of the level of agreement among all 1,013 respondents who took the survey, regarding the statement that the CRTC is taking measures to enhance the safety and protection of Canadians in the communication system. The question is asked along with a list of activities that the CRTC carries out and is therefore considered aided. Specifically, respondents were asked question 3, which is: "If I told you that the CRTC carries out activities related to: accessing 9-1-1 services, warnings of emergencies on TV and radio, Canada’s anti-spam legislation, protection against unwanted or telemarketing calls, a code of conduct for wireless service providers, and protection against misleading calls during federal elections. Would you say that you strongly agree, somewhat agree, somewhat disagree or strongly disagree that the CRTC is taking measures to enhance the safety and protection of Canadians in the communication system?" The graph shows results overall and for a variety of demographic groups based on region, age, gender, education level and survey language. Overall, 28% strongly agree, 45% somewhat agree, 13% somewhat disagree, 10% strongly disagree and 4% said they don't know. It is a total of 73% for the top 2 boxes. In Atlantic Canada, 20% strongly agree, 56% somewhat agree, which is significantly different, 9% somewhat disagree, 11% strongly disagree, which is significantly different, and 3% said they don't know. It is a total of 76% for the top 2 boxes. In Quebec, 44% strongly agree, which is significantly different, 42% somewhat agree, 7% somewhat disagree, 3% strongly disagree and 3% said they don't know. It is a total of 87% for the top 2 boxes. In Ontario, 21% strongly agree and 41% somewhat agree. 22% of those in Ontario somewhat disagree and 12% strongly disagree. Both of these results are significantly different. In Ontario, 4% said they don't know if they agree with the statement. It is a total of 62% for the top 2 boxes in Ontario, which is significantly different. In the Prairies, 22% strongly agree, 51% somewhat agree, 8% somewhat disagree, 13% strongly disagree, which is significantly different, and 6% said they don't know. It is a total of 73% for the top 2 boxes. In BC, 28% strongly agree, 49% somewhat agree, 10% somewhat disagree, 8% strongly disagree and 5% said they don't know. It is a total of 77% for the top 2 boxes. Among those 18-34 as well as among those 35-54, 28% strongly agree, 46% somewhat agree, 13% somewhat disagree, 9% strongly disagree and 4% said they don't know. Among those 18-34, it is a total of 74% for the top 2 boxes. And among those 35-54, it is a total of 71% for the top 2 boxes. Among those 55+, 29% strongly agree, 46% somewhat agree, 11% somewhat disagree, 9% strongly disagree and 5% said they don't know. It is a total of 75% for the top 2 boxes. Among men, 24% strongly agree, 45% somewhat agree, 15% somewhat disagree, 12% strongly disagree and 4% said they don't know. It is a total of 69% for the top 2 boxes. Among those who are current students, 30% strongly agree, 48% somewhat agree, 13% somewhat disagree, 7% strongly disagree and 3% said they don't know. It is a total of 78% for the top 2 boxes. Among those who have high school education or less, 28% strongly agree, 44% somewhat agree, 13% somewhat disagree, 10% strongly disagree and 5% said they don't know. It is a total of 72% for the top 2 boxes. Among those who have a college education, 24% strongly agree, 49% somewhat agree, 13% somewhat disagree, 11% strongly disagree and 3% said they don't know. It is a total of 73% for the top 2 boxes. Among those who have a university education, 29% strongly agree, 43% somewhat agree, 14% somewhat disagree, 10% strongly disagree and 4% said they don't know. It is a total of 73% for the top 2 boxes. Among those who speak English, 23% strongly agree and 46% somewhat agree. 15% of those who speak English somewhat disagree, 11% strongly disagree and 5% said they don't know. These last three results are significantly different. It is a total of 69% for the top 2 boxes for those who speak English. Among those who speak French, 46% strongly agree, which is significantly different, 44% somewhat agree, 7% somewhat disagree and 3% strongly disagree. It is a total of 89% for the top 2 boxes, which is significantly different.
