Luis
de Godoy's ferocious yet fluid flamencado places him
snugly in the domain of the elite guitarists of the world. His
rare talents offer a feast for the senses; a wide-open and pure
soundscape that is mesmerizing. His sound is unique, naive, fresh
and above all, dynamic. Despite fabulous finger work, this master
virtuoso never betrays the emotional essence at the core of his
work.
Luis
de Godoy was born in Santiago, Chile, raised in Buenos Aires,
Argentina and has spent the greater part of his adult life in
Montreal, Canada.
His family's
rich musical heritage, firmly rooted in the flamencado
tradition, was imparted to him from birth. His multi-cultural
synthesis of sound draws on numerous additional sources of inspiration:
the music of the three Americas, and, of course, Spain.
No longer
content with playing exclusively to enthusiastic crowds in Montreal's
vibrant live music scene, he has finally (and thankfully) decided
to put together a debut release of original material entitled
Luis de Godoy.
