A new
book entitled AYLA’S STORY - THE STRUGGLES OF A PREMATURE BABY
AND THE MIRACLE THAT FOLLOWS. How would any grandparent feel to see their beloved
granddaughter struggling to stay alive? Imagine your own newborn, impossibly
small, clinging to life amid the incubator’s tubes and wires. Then imagine
being able to care about anything else at all. This
is a story about a premature baby by the name of Ayla. It relates to the
challenges she had to overcome from being born after a gestation period of only
twenty-four weeks, weighing 1 lb 5oz. Ayla spent three months at Children's
Hospital in Vancouver, where she endured an uphill struggle to overcome various
infections and lung problems and one month at Victoria General Hospital, where
she progressed quickly. Ayla was four months old before
she was able to come home and start on her journey of new beginnings. The
story, told by her grandfather, is written in a way that reflects her
perspective. Information was gathered from many visits to the Hospitals, plus
phone calls and visits in person talking to the Doctors and Nurses who were
involved with Ayla's special care. Ayla is truly a miracle and surely does have a meaningful purpose in
our lives and the lives of others. This book can help
