Brian Buckerell

Brian is relatively new to the world of art, having only begun painting following his retirement and relocation from Ontario to British Columbia. For nearly two years now painting has consumed much of his time and energy. He paints primarily with acrylics but has recently begun to explore water-soluable oils. His areas of interest continue to develop as he is exposed to new ideas and the works of others. He is excited by portraiture and landscape - particularly plein air.

Brian has taken workshops and classes from a number of gifted artists: Rob Lundquist, Marilyn Timms, Karen Martin and Neil Boyle (Comox, B.C.); Robert Genn, Nancy OToole, David Goatley (British Columbia); Kathleen Elsey, Camille Przewodek, Marcia Burtt, Jeffrey Watts and Barry Raybould (California). Brian feels that each learning experience has been part of a great adventure, one that he expects will continue to stimulate and challenge him as he improves his ability to depict subjects with increased accuracy and imagination.

So much to learn - so little time.
