The Hot Season
(March May)
It’s not just the heat
Desiccated by yet another blistering
Oppressive eternal summer ice-breaker meltdown
Inflaming thirst chapped lips parch
Triple digit Fahrenheit oven swelter
It’s more the blasted humidity
Former selves married to resignation
Dispassionate lovers unemotionally make believe
Going through fanned ardent motions
Whenever pushy lustihood urges shove
It’s not just the humidity
Intense infrared micro tanning waves
Aloe soothing venomous spine stingrays
Sweaty perspiration soaking right through
Weightless clothing empty animus bared
It’s more the blasted heat
