Requiem for Murdered Girls

Welcome!

Murdered, abducted, and molested

Sisters and daughters not fetuses,

Pale and stinking,

Mythology based good ole time religion ritual,

Designer Zeus, alleviated tension,

World chocked full of pain, sardines, and all the bad in life…

Welcome!

Sorry children,

Made-up bedtime horror stories,

Nighttime morning glories

Grown from festering sores of pain,

Hideous chores, let’s-make-believe whores,

Humanity’s golden locked prostitutes bent over for some Scrabble…

Welcome!

Now, let us pray!

Be quick though, Jeopardy’s on!

Turn that God damn news off!

Oh, a sexy models’ show!

God, what a breast stroke!

Oh wait—Howard Stern is on!

Abused stripers!   Midget porno-hoes!

Are the girls asleep?  Good!

Mmm, Brittany Spears’ implants!

Christina Aguilera’s gaping crack!

Janet Jackson’s raped boob!

Thank God our daughters and role models are asleep!

Zzzzzzzzzzzz…

Why not mention the murdered girls?

Their pale bodies lay obscured beneath an avalanche of commercial breaks,

Dogmatic canon blasts, God’s barking zoo,

Large screen TV’s, PC’s, 1st-person-shooter video games,

Masturbation, ritual celebrity, Tom Cruise, soap-opera martyr wannabes,

Noise chants, and a hypnotist preacher’s smoggy rhetoric…

Amen!

Steve D. Owen's writing is based upon the seedy underbelly of the American dream/reality -- especially that of the dysfunctional family.

Having grown up in and barely escaped his own abusive family environment, and having worked as a counselor with emotionally disturbed (abused) children for (going) on four years now -- he has a lot to share with our society in regards to what really goes on...and shouldn't.

However, he also looks into the polluted pot of politics and religion - national, international, historical -- and enjoys tearing apart the paradigms of any scared cow. His goal is to be truly non-biased and intellectually honest.
