In this first print edition of Ascent Aspirations Magazine we didn’t set a theme but simply asked our readers and our on-line contributors to submit their best work. We were not looking for anything specific, but we were looking for an eclectic mix of work that would reflect the efforts in poetry of the last eight years of successful publishing on the web.
Forty-seven poets grace the pages with new and creative work , published as an anthology. We chose the work in a blind judging format and let the merit of the poetry fall out of our decisions. There were 343 submissions from over 130 poets. Once the judging was completed, we discovered who would be included in Ascent Aspirations Magazine, Anthology One. Ascent Aspirations thanks all poets who submitted and supported this new venture.
The anthology, although a magazine in name, is published in the form of a perfect bound book of 120 pages featuring the biographies and pictures of the poets along with their poetry. The publication is an exciting addition to Ascent Aspirations Magazine’s many years of on-line publication and we know our readers will share our excitement.
