Why Wait For Tomorrow When You Can Live Your Dreams Today?
Do you have a dream that you will get to someday?
Are you waiting until you have more time?
Are you waiting for more money? Or, are you waiting for the right moment? The only person you are hurting by waiting is you. Don't you want more?
Waiting for things to happen serves a purpose. It keeps us from looking at how we are responsible for not living a life we love. As long as there are outside reasons why we can not have what we want in our lives, then we will never have to make a mistake, fail, or be rejected. True, our reasons keep us safe, but do they make us happy?
Living your dreams takes courage. And, it also takes having a plan. Would you like to create a plan that will end the waiting and make your dreams a reality? See these easy to follow steps below:
1. Write Down Your Dreams.
Writing down your dreams makes them real. And once they are real, they become accomplishable. It does not matter if you know how the dream will end. What matters is that you are putting your dreams in writing. This action will give you something concrete to shoot for.
2. Break Your Dreams Into Steps.
Dreams are reached in stages. Expecting them to come into your life in one shot will only lead to disappointment. Do yourself a favor and break them into smaller steps.
3. Write What Needs To Be Done Tomorrow At The End Of Today
If you write down your to do list before you end the day, you can start the next morning calm and relaxed. Planning will free your my mind so you can look forward and be excited about the next day.
4. Take Action.
Once you take the first step, you have created the momentum to continue. One action leads to another until one day you find that you are living your dreams. Action gets you through the rough spots, and it keeps you motivated. Trust that doing something is better than not doing anything at all.
5. Stop Giving Yourself Too Much To Do.
Being overwhelmed whether real or made up will stop you dead in your tracks. It becomes the reason why you can't try. It is ok to miss a few items on your to do list. Do what you can, rather than what you think you should be doing, so your dreams do not become a burden.
6. Ask For Support.
Why do it alone? The strongest people are those who ask for help. Plus, it will be more fun this way!
7. Reward Yourself.
Congratulate yourself for a job well done! You are making great strides towards living a life you love. You have every reason to be proud of yourself. Just because it seems hard at times does not mean that you are not making a difference.
So go out and live your dreams! You only have one life to live so it might as well be a life you are NOT waiting to live.
I'll Be Happy When I Win
Are you happy with who, what, or where you are today? Are you having fun? Are you enjoying your career? Are you excited about your future? Are you living your life to the fullest? If the answer is no, then I ask "Why Not?" Most of us are searching for something, or sometime in the future when we will finally be happy. We tell ourselves that if we can only get to "that place," then our lives will be perfect. What we miss when we go through life with this perspective is the joy of today, and all the wonderful things that it brings.
So what will it take for you to be happy? Will it be the bigger house, the new car, getting married, getting divorced, becoming pregnant, getting a new job, moving to a new home, etc? When will you stop running and enjoy what you have today? The search for happiness is internal and impossible to obtain from outside things. Sure, they may make you smile initially, but the emptiness will not go away.
So, How Can You Be Happy Today? Follow These Easy Steps:
1. Accept That You Deserve To Be Happy:
If you don't think that you deserve to be happy, then no wonder you're not. The messages you give yourself determine what direction your life will take. If you are telling yourself that you are unworthy or don't deserve happiness, then how can you expect to be happy?
2. Accept Who You Are:
Being happy today is accepting who you are; the good, the bad and the ugly. It's knowing that you are doing the best you can do, and being content with that. I'm not saying to ignore what you'd like to improve in your life, but if you only see what's missing, you lose out on "loving" what's great about you.
3. Be Comfortable Where You Are:
Being happy today means being comfortable where you are in the present, not where you would like to be in the future. It's about being in awe for the opportunity to learn something new each day. You don't know what your life will bring tomorrow, so you might as well enjoy where you are today.
4. Appreciate Your Life:
Being happy today means being grateful for your life. Whether it's being grateful for having your health, a job, a place to live, food everyday, or a family that loves you. If you knew that you were going to die in 90 days, would you do things differently? Guess what? You are going to die one day, and you don't know if you even have 90 days. Gratitude, not blame will give you happiness and freedom.
5. Ask For Help:
Being happy means not keeping your problems to yourself. It also means that you ask for support when you need it, and let others contribute to your life. Most of us don't ask for help because we don't want to burden the people around us. But, if someone asked you for assistance, wouldn't you lend a helping hand? Then why wouldn't you let others do the same for you?
6. Do Something Nice For Someone Else:
Being happy today is doing something nice for someone else. This could be as simple as holding the door for the person behind you, or as big as volunteering your time to your favorite charity. Your problems become smaller when you are not always thinking about them. When you take the focus off yourself, it is easier to see how great your life really is.
7. Do Something That Will Move You Forward:
Being happy is taking steps that will move you forward. Movement keeps you from feeling like a victim. When you're unhappy, formulating a plan puts you in a different place and helps change your perspective. It also put the power back in your hands!
So, what is it going to take to have you be happy today? How much more of your life do you want to live waiting for _someday_ to bring you the happiness you crave? It's up to you to create your own happiness. It's up to you to create a life filled with joy rather than sorrow. Why not choose a life filled with happiness today?
ARE YOU WAITING FOR THE PERFECT GOAL?
Are you waiting for the perfect goal, the one that will finally get you moving?
Most of us spend our lives waiting for something. Once we have the perfect job, more money, a better relationship, a nicer house, car, etc., we will finally be happy. We also do this with goals. Once we find the perfect goal, then we can go for it, but not before then. Our wish to be safe and sure keeps us from pursuing a life we love.
The hardest thing about picking a goal is that once you pick it, you will have to commit yourself to doing it. This scares many people because once they commit, they have to stop talking about their goals and start working towards them.
What happens if you pick the wrong goal or you make a mistake? This is the question that stops many people before they get started. But the answer is simple; if you choose the wrong goal or make a mistake, you move on. Use what you learned to adjust your goal or set a new one. We all want a guarantee before we begin so we know that our efforts will be worth it. Unfortunately, life doesn't work this way. We make the commitment first; we see the rewards second.
So what keeps you from picking a goal? Is it fear? The thought of choosing the wrong path is so terrifying to many of us that we'd prefer to do nothing at all.
How Do You Pick A Goal And Stick With It? Follow These Easy Steps:
1. Accept That You Deserve To Have A Goal:
If you don't think that you deserve to have goals, then no wonder you are goal-less. The messages you give to yourself determine where your life will go. If you are telling yourself that you are unworthy or don't warrant goals, then how can you expect to have direction in your life?
2. Pick A Goal:
I know this seems obvious, but you can't reach your goals until you know what they are and you can't get there unless you know where you are going. What's the worst that can happen? You pick the wrong goal? No matter how bad you think it is to pick the wrong goal, at least you've picked something. And, it will still lead you to the finish line with more experience under your belt.
3. Commit To Your Goal:
Commitment is where it starts and nothing happens without a focused effort to make it materialize. Most people are afraid of commitment, but they find they are freed up as soon as they make one. The fear of bring tied down to something will only keep goal-less, wondering why your life has no direction.
4. Create A Plan to Achieve Your Goal:
This part scares people because they believe it is too hard to do. If you were looking to buy a car, wouldn't you do the research, visit showrooms, test-drive different cars, comparison shop, etc. This is your plan, whether you think you created one or not. It was your roadmap that led you to the goal of buying a car. If you did this for a car, why can't you do this for yourself?
5. Recognize That Fear Is Part Of The Process:
There are times when you will wonder if you have what it takes to attain your goals. Fear is a normal part of human nature. If you can accept that fear will occur during this process then you don't have to spend time worrying what you will do if you do get afraid because you will have this part handled. The only way past fear is through it and not around it. You can do it!
6. Take Action Every Day Towards Your Goal:
Your life is moving forward whether you are working towards your goals or not. So, wouldn't it be better to take one action each day that will get you closer to where you want to be? It could be as simple as making a phone call, sending an e-mail, or doing some research on the Internet. Goals are attained through the little steps until, one day, you find that you are there. This is the only way.
7. Be Nice To Yourself Along The Way:
Take time to congratulate yourself on your successes. You deserve it! You are working very hard towards achieving your goal and you earned the right to pat yourself on the back for a job well done. Sure you may get discouraged or have doubts, but don't let that take away from the courage it took to get out of your own way, and moving in the right direction.
So don't worry about picking the wrong goal. Go for it, and live a life you never thought possible. Like the perfect job or the better relationship, the perfect goal will not magically appear. Be responsible for your own life and your own happiness. Make it happen! Be more afraid of not trying at all.
