If We Were Not Human
if we were not human, only leaves floating, falling in autumn,
following destiny, fulfilling dreams, as perceived by humans
observing us
if we were not human, only feverish flowers blooming, believing,
seeking salvation, bursting with beauty and metamorphosis, as
perceived by humans watching us
if we were not human, but conscious of an ancient past,
remembering when we were truly alive and human, we'd die again
and again in our involuntary reincarnations, claustrophobic and
buried alive, paralyzed in an alien body, as perceived by us-who
watch you from within, praying for a permanent miracle-
to die forever
