Muse

hates croutons and salad dressing, diet
ladies. loves women all shapes all sizes in
stained white linen making love many
places between things--fridge and oven
men and skirts, dark red sheets—

dancing every dance drinking ice water washing
her hair; his hair under a hot stream burns the hand heats
the head; candied ginger milk chocolate limes whipping

cream, oh! and sashimi with sticky rice. wants an old gold
couch from a Broadway thriftstore that she made him give
away threadbare, a big loud fan caught with dust and cat
purrs all night long blowing dry, Colorado summer
over her warm wet flesh.

Rebecca Rowe is a writer from Colorado most recently published in the May issue of Ascent and the March issue of Sol Magazine. When she is not writing, she hikes the Sangre de Christo mountains and sand dunes for inspiration.
