For T.
Your picture
shocked me:
memory froze you a kid,
not worn & tired
but fun, vivacious
– really
cancered
to an early stop?
Trigger
The odd reminder
pulls you down old lost hallways:
stare in silent rooms
at cobwebbed, mottled mirrors
- see yourself,
always caught there.
Aftermath
A hurricane
has passed:
the broken stop sign swings loosely now by the ruined trees.
Stephanie
On the cusp,
shining,
perfect,
undeflated you:
I can’t keep looking.
