Mark Talacko

After graduating from Syracuse Mark Talacko roamed below the 49th parallel and grew bored and impatient. Now he is East, a Chinese city just above the crab line, at work on a novel and a collection of short stories, fighting off the growing restlessness that brought him there. "Loving a Prostitute," comes from "Signs of a Horrible Feast: Poems written without conquest," a collection of poetry written and published by Mark Talacko and Timothy Davids (Community Books, 2001). "Signs" presents two new and differing voices writing to be heard, writing to challenge hearts and minds, and satiate the need to transpose the things within upon a page. Doug Tanoury was born and raised in Detroit and attended Wayne State University. His work has been published widely both in print and in electronic form. Hank Threadgill

Hank Threadgill was born and raised near the Fort Worth stockyards in North Texas, in a neighborhood they used to call “Hell’s Half Acre.” A former musical instrument salesman and the son of a Southern Baptist preacher, Hank relocated to Arlington, TX in the late 1940s, where he has slowly seen open fields turn into parking lots. He was born in 1922, the same year as Kurt Vonnegut, Jack Kerouac, and Howard Zinn, though he rarely esteems himself worthy of such marvelous company. His poetry has appeared sporadically over the years in many journals that are now defunct, such as: Backboard Quarterly, Sign Waves, The Hemlock Review, Time & Again, Gone Fishing, Glossolalia, Fail Swoop, The Vicambulist, and Zero Ducats.

Terry Tilson lives on a small acerage in rural America, with her many pets, seen here posing with her beloved Seven. She is the proud mother of one child, her son Zachary. Much of Terry’s free time is spent in nature walking the dogs, taking pictures or writing, and has recently rediscovered her love for poetry. Robert Blake Truscott
