Ceasing
I despised the crimson flow
that gushed out of me by the cycle of the moon,
the way my uterus contracted
like a boa constrictor inside of me, crushing, cruel.
Until it stopped.
And part of me died.
And I longed for ovulation
as I longed for air.
Lord, forgive me for cursing
not blessing
my gift.
