Eclipse Of The Sun
I want more.
Plodding from present
to future in slow decay
finds me a less fortunate
friend fighting to focus
on an eclipse of my sun.
Looking in the mirror
I see some gaunt specimen.
Sound shivers and is garbled,
words fail and hang somewhere
untouched on the wrong side
of my lips in ghostly limbo.
My brain is a nodule of nothing
tapering off into gray infinity
and I sit dipped in darkness
squeezing out words as punishment.
An abyss awaits and a dark
wave splashes forward.
