Junk Yard

Hello Death

I’ve followed your narrow thread
to this desert road

I’ve watched every morning

crooking my head toward the sun

to catch your glint

among the torn edges

And today-

I remove my helmet

baring my head

for your anointment

One More Day

This gray day
turned nearly black
from the white whacked storm

wizened branches
like stalking shadows
haunt
      I
           twist
      and set myself
     face against the wind;

     stand
once more

till darkness
turns to white
