3rd Annual Amazing Biotech Race at Innovation Place: company checkpoints needed!

Saskatchewan is preparing for the 10th National Biotechnology Week from September 20th to 27th this fall, and we are looking for companies willing to participate in a great student outreach event. The Amazing Biotech Race will be held at Innovation Place on Thursday, September 26th. This race brings together high school and post-secondary students and helps them connect with businesses in the local bioscience community. This is a great opportunity for them to meet new people, learn about what is happening in Saskatoon and (this is important!) have fun while doing it.

We need organizations to act as checkpoints in the race. The students will start at the Atrium, receive their first clues and then move from one checkpoint to the next, participating in lab challenges, or answering skill testing questions, gathering clues until they complete the race. The event winds up at Boffins for the networking event Biotech and Beer. A maximum of eight teams will take part (6 people per team). The activities at each checkpoint should take no more than 15 minutes. We would need a welcoming party from each company to greet the students and help them complete the challenge. And we hope you can make it to Biotech and Beer at Boffins afterwards! If you are interested in participating as a checkpoint company, as a team, or would like to sponsor the event, contact Jackie Robin, 306-668-2656.

Remember, there are limited spaces for both companies and teams. First come, first served - don't miss this great opportunity! Check out the video from last year’s race: http://youtu.be/fUQLvgWd9Os
