The successful applicant must have a completed PhD or evidence of imminent completion, be competent to teach both Greek and Latin, and show a clear promise of excellence in teaching and research. A willingness to contribute to the Departmental archaeology programme and/or to teach a course in Classical myth and religion will be considered an asset. The position will be held in the new Department of Classical, Near Eastern and Religious Studies, planned for July 1, 1995. The successful applicant must have a completed PhD or evidence of imminent completion, and show a clear promise of excellence in teaching and research. There is no restriction on field of specialization (including both Classical and Near Eastern archaeology), but preference will be given to a candidate who can contribute to the activities of the various branches of the new Department. An interest in interdisciplinary approaches to teaching will also be considered an asset. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
