The MHR was founded in 1986 by a group of scholars at Tel Aviv University. It is published biannually by F. Cass, London. The MHR is interested in publishing articles on Mediterranean history ranging from antiquity to the modern area. Articles are subject to peer review. The journal has acquired an excellent and wide-spread reputation in the international academic community and may be found in hundreds of public and university libraries the world over.
