The position is now advertised as follows: YORK UNIVERSITY: POSITION IN GREEK HISTORY AND CLASSICS Applications are invited for a contractually-limited appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Ancient Greek History and Classics, to commence 1 July 1995 for a period of one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year. Qualifications include a completed Ph.D., teaching experience, and an ongoing programme of research in the area of Ancient Greek History. Preference will be given to candidates who specialize in the area of social history. The successful candidate will be expected to teach an upper level course in the history of ancient Athens as well as language courses in Classical Greek and Latin. Salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience. The position is subject to budgetary approval.
