The following is a brief description of a study tour to Turkey in 1996

sponsored by the Arts Faculty of the University of New Brunswick in Canada.

Entitled "The Ancient Treasures of Western and Aegean Turkey", the tour

will take place from 8th to 29th May. The itinerary will include Istanbul,

Ankara, Hattusas, Cappadocia, Side, Aspendos, Perge, Termessus, Antalya,

Phaselis, Olympus, Myra, Kas, Patara, Xanthus, Caunus, Cnidus, Hieropolis,

Laodicea, Aphrodisias, Didyma, Miletus, Priene, Ephesus, Sardis, Pergamum,

Assos and Troy.  Transatlantic flight will be from Montreal via London by

British Airways. The tour will be conducted by Professors M.J.Mills and

J.S.Murray of the Department of Classics and Ancient History.  Two courses

["Ancient Cities and Civilizations of Western Turkey" (3ch) and

"Graeco-Roman Backgrounds of Early Christianity" (3ch)] will be offered.
