		    PROGRAMME IN CLASSICAL STUDIES



The Division of Humanities and the Programme in Classical Studies invite

applications for a contractually limited appointment in the area of Classical

Studies at the rank of Assistant Professor, to commence 1 July 1996 for a

period of one year. The successful candidate will have a completed or nearly

completed Ph.D., and be actively engaged in a programme of research in some

aspect of Roman culture.



The successful candidate should be able to teach courses in Roman culture,

Greek and Roman mythology, and classical Greek and Latin language and

literature. Active participation in the Programme in Classical Studies is

expected. Salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience. The

position is subject to budgetary approval.
