The Departments of Anthropology and Classical Studies, University of

Waterloo, are looking for an individual to fill a joint tenure-track

position starting September 1, 1996. The Anthropology program needs include

teaching Introductory Human Evolution (first year level), Archaeological

Method and Theory, North American Prehistory, and your own specialty area.

Ability to teach Introductory Socio-Cultural Anthropology and courses on

Canadian Prehistory would be a definite asset. In Classical Studies the

successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in

Greek and Roman art and architecture, as well as survey courses in the

history and culture of Greece and/or Rome, and elementary to

intermediate-level courses in Greek and/or Latin. Opportunities also exist

for senior-level instruction in the candidate's area of specialisation. We

are looking for an excellent teacher who can contribute in a number of ways

to a small undergraduate department. Research area is open, but the person

must have an active program with publications or potential publications.

Salary range commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applicants
