TRENT UNIVERSITY



The Department of Ancient History and Classics invites applications for an

8-month limited term appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant

Professor, depending on qualifications and teaching experience, to commence

on 1 September 1996.  The successful candidate will be a generalist with a

strong interest in Greek studies who will be expected to teach courses at

the introductory level in Greek history in translation, Greek language, and

archaeology and art history and, possibly, be asked to help out in related

areas of the departmental teaching programme. 

Applicants, who should demonstrate both good teaching ability and potential

as scholars, should have the Ph.D. or be very near completion. Applications
