UNIVERSITY OF VICTORIA
The Department of Greek and Roman Studies has received permission to make a
tenure-track appointment within the Assistant Professor rank in the area of
Latin Language and Literature. Applicants should be active in research and
publication, and should have some experience of teaching texts both in
Latin and translation. A commitment to innovative or interdisciplinary
approaches, or to making ancient literature accessible to a wider public,
would be an advantage.
The appointment will commence on 1 July 1998. It is occasioned by the
imminent retirement of the Department's two Latinists. The salary floor
for an Assistant Professor in 1998-99 will be $45,000. Please send a letter
