NINE-MONTH TEACHING FELLOWSHIP



Applications are invited for the above post commencing 1 October 1998 from

candidates with specialisation in ancient philosophy; this is to replace Dr

TK Johansen who has a US research fellowship for the period. In addition to

a major unit in philosophy for final-year undergraduates and a

literary/philosophical topic for first- and second-year students, teaching

duties may include a further philosophical topic, some language teaching, a

taught MA unit in ancient philosophy, or some postgraduate supervision.

Candidates must be available for regular consultation by students in

Bristol and will be expected to become involved in Departmental activities,

including light administrative duties and research, postgraduate and

ancient philosophy seminars. They will normally have a PhD in hand or close

to completion. Salary will be that of a Lecturer Grade A, pro-rated (1997

12-month rate GBP 16,045, currently under review). Send CV with names of
