FULL-TIME SESSIONAL INSTRUCTOR - ANCIENT HISTORY, ART AND ARCHITECTURE



Applications are invited for a Term Certain Full-time Sessional Instructor

position for the period 1 September 1998 to 30 April 1999, to replace a

professor who has retired.  This position is in the Department of Greek,

Latin and Ancient History.  The successful applicant (Ph.D. preferred) will

be required to teach three half courses in each of the Fall and Winter

terms. There is a possibility of additional teaching in the Spring term

1999, for extra remuneration. 



We are seeking applicants who are able to teach introductory courses in the

history of Greece and Rome and in ancient technology, together with senior

level courses in Greek history and Greek and Roman art and architecture. 

For the larger junior level classes Graduate Student assistance with

marking is provided. 



In accordance with Canadian immigration requirements, priority will be

given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.  The

Salary will be $4,000 per half course plus appropriate benefits.
