Lectureship in Archaeology

At the Department of Archaeology, University of Reading, England



Applications are invited for a full time Grade A Lectureship for a fixed

term of four years from 1 October 1998.  Applications are sought with

teaching and research interests preferably in Roman archaeology or in the

Later prehistory of the British Isles and Continental Europe.  This post

has been created to cover teaching, research and administrative needs of

the department while two of its senior staff are either serving the

University (Professor Mike Fulford as Pro-Vice Chancellor) or on research

leave (Professor Richard Bradley). 



The department has an international reputation for its research, receiving

a '5' rating in both the 1992 and 1996 HEFCE Research Assessment Exercises.



Salary is in the range 16045-21016 pounds sterling per annum (Grade A) with

USS benefits.
