Nine-month Sessional Appointment
The Department of Classics at Mount Allison University invites applications for a nine-month sessional appointment (sabbatical replacement), subject to budgetary approval. The appointment will commence on August 1, 2005 and will be made at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor. Applicants should hold a PhD in a relevant discipline (or be near completion) and have a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching. Duties will include teaching courses in Roman history and Women in antiquity, as well as language instruction in Greek and/or Latin. Cawkwell Fellowship in Ancient History

Cawkwell Fellowship in Ancient History, in association with a University Lecturership (CUF) in Ancient History and a Stipendiary Lecturership at The Queen's College.
University College proposes to elect a Tutorial Fellow in Ancient Greek History (to be known as the Cawkwell Fellow in Ancient History) from 1 October 2005 or as soon as possible thereafter. The post will be held in association with a stipendiary lecturership at the Queen's College and a University Lecturership (CUF) in the Faculty of Classics. The successful candidate will have an established research record within any area of Ancient History (Greek), and a high ability in, and strong commitment to, undergraduate and graduate teaching.
The total university and college stipend is on an age-related scale up to £45,707, plus generous college allowances. The appointment will be pensionable under the USS scheme.

Desmond Conacher Scholarship
The Committee overseeing the Desmond Conacher Scholarship wishes to remind prospective graduate students that the deadline for receipt of applications is March 31, 2005.
