CALL FOR PAPERS: CACW
UNIVERSITY OF WINNIPEG
MARCH 6–7, 2015

From Allison Surtees

The CACW invites proposals for papers for its annual conference, to be held at the University of Winnipeg on March 6th–7th 2015. We invite paper and session proposals on aspects and topics that fit the theme of the conference: “The Ancient Community”.

This conference intends to consider all aspects of the ancient community, from village to city, culture to religion, and from the economy through to geography, while also examining relations between communities, between individuals within and outside them, and between communities and the state. Through the examination of these broad aspects, we intend to consider various themes that link ancient communities across time and place.

We welcome proposals for both individual paper (twenty minutes) and organized panel-sessions (three-five papers) from national and international scholars and graduate students. Abstracts for individual papers should not exceed 350 words; proposals for panel-sessions should not exceed 600 words. All submissions should be sent to the organizing committee, at CACW2015@icloud.com, no later than October 17, 2014.
