In this schematic diagram, a 28 day cycle is shown, with ovulation on day 14 and the follicular and luteal test days 6 days after and before the start of menstruation, respectively. On each test day, a 3% saline solution was infused from 8 am to 10 am and blood and urine samples were collected at the times indicated by the arrows in the bottom diagram.
