Westmount, Que., neurologist Herbert Henri Jasper was awarded the 1995 Albert Einstein Scientific Award by a group of 25 Nobel Prize laureates in a recent ceremony in Mexico City. Jasper's landmark work in electroencephalography laid the foundation for current knowledge about epilepsy and opened the door to a new life for people suffering from the disorder. Still active at 89, Jasper is professor emeritus and honorary consultant in neuroscience at the Université de Montréal. He was honoured by the CMA in 1994 when he was selected to receive the association's highest honour, the F.N.G. Starr Award.
