Patient brochure on blood transfusion

The Canadian Red Cross has published an information brochure for people who may require a blood transfusion. You may need blood gives an overview of how blood is prepared for transfusion, testing, the risks of infection and options such as autologous donation. Physicians may order copies at no charge through their local Canadian Red Cross Blood Centre (800 668-2866, Monday to Friday, 7 am to 8 pm EST) or by using the feedback button on the Red Cross Internet home page (http://www.redcross.ca/e/blood.html).
