Launch!

This issue marks the end of our ``trial" period. Next week we begin Volume II, and we begin asking that anyone who wants to go on reading us buy a subscription (free to anyone in Manitoba). Since our first issue, on June 16th,the new, electronic CM has come a long way -- we've been getting bigger, smoother, and better-looking. Just as important, we haven't missed a deadline. We'll always be here with a new issue on Friday.

Because it's the end of our trial volume, this is also our official ``launch" issue;CM is holding a launch party tonight (October 13th) at Zine's Infocafe, 875 Corydon here in Winnipeg. Jon Gerrard one of our government benefactors will be there to speak; Peter and I will do a big-screen demo of the magazine; and there'll be refreshments. I'm not supposed to invite too many people in case we're swamped, but what the heck; it looks like the weather will be nice, and if you read this in time, come on in and pay us a visit.

With all the arrangements for our launch, we've been especially short for time, so this issue is slightly briefer than usual, but we'll be back, full-size next week for the start of Volume II. Thanks for reading so far and wish us luck!

As always, send any comments, suggestions, or complaints to the address beneath my name.
