Claimid
Every student can claim a free UMnetID for internet and email plus a Novell INS account for campus PC lab access. See the Accounts section for more information.

Email
Students are encouraged to claim their U of M email account.  Your address will be based on your name. 
Example:  Jamie Smith > smith5@cc.umanitoba.ca

You can access your email in the following ways:

• Webmail
• JUMP
• Outlook or other email client

Jump and WebCT
JUMP is the U of M web portal providing access to your email, personal calendar, fees and student fees and history.  Both JUMP and WebCT are also course tools, providing access to online materials and instruction.

Access - Wireless, Labs, Dial-in
Internet access is available on campus through the IST computer labs or our wireless hotspots.  Dial-in access consists of 30 free hours per month (not including long distance charges).  Each additonal hour is seventy-five cents.  Bills are mailed to your UMnetID email address.

Personal web pages
You can create a personal web site hosted by the University at no cost.

Software
Antivirus software is free to registered U of M students through Software Express. Other software is available from IST. Students should also enquire at the University Bookstore regarding reduced pricing for Microsoft Office.
